We Need More Kids in Guided by Kids!

We could use some more applicants for Guided by Kids 2019/2020. We offer free education in speech and debate from a National Speech and Debate Association Hall of Fame coach, Fred Robertson, and a former Millard West state champion Lincoln-Douglas debater and assistant coach, Payton Shudak.

We help students gain confidence and realize they have a powerful voice. Students also take part in meaningful community service. Finally, we compete and do well at local middle school speech and debate tournaments, and will be hosting our own middle school debate tournament at the Kroc Center on April 18.

It's for students in grades 5-8 in this school year, and we meet every Thursday at the Kroc Center (exceptions for winter break and one week in February) beginning December 5, from 6-7:30 p.m.

Deadline for applications is in 9 days: Sunday, October 20. Any student in grades 5-8 in the metro area can apply by going to www.guidedbykids.org
