Guided by Kids at Douglas County Fair!

This weekend, July 15-17, we will have a booth with other businesses at the Douglas County Fair held at the Liberty Credit Union Arena in Ralston! We are inside and admission is free so stop by to talk to me about what we are doing in Guided by Kids this summer and next year.

Payton and I are excited to have 8 students signed up for our Congressional Debate mini-camp at Omaha Marian July 25-29 but I will also be seeking a few more 5th-8th graders who want a wonderful learning experience taught by Payton, myself, and four Omaha Marian Congressional Debaters: Collette Lawler, Lucy Kalkowski, Harshni Vallabhaneni, and Eliza Turco. We also have enlisted the help of three Omaha public servants and civic leaders--State School Board Representative Deborah ODonnell Neary, State Sentator Megan Hunt, and State Senator John McCollister--who will spend a one hou session talking to our students about what they do for their communities. They will also answer questions from the class.

So stop by the Guided by Kids table this weekend at the Douglas County Fair inside the Liberty Credit Union Arena in Ralston. I'll be there with Board Member Chris Schultz today, Friday, July 15, 4-8 p.m.; tomorrow, Saturday, July 16, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday, July 17, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., when my co-teacher Payton Shudak will also join me.
